The STAR is an electric thermal glider that allows for extended flight times without the need for so-called "hammerheads." This is achieved by designing our STAR for minimal sink rate. In "Denglish," one might refer to the STAR as a "floater." However, its performance over distance is also excellent, allowing for quick navigation through downdraft areas. These outstanding and forgiving flight characteristics are primarily due to the very lightweight and particularly stable truss construction of the fuselage and the ribbed wing with partial covering. We recommend our STAR to both beginners in model aviation and experts alike. While beginners can learn the assembly of a model aircraft, experts will appreciate the aesthetic truss construction. The wing is three-part, making it easy to transport the model in a small car or by bicycle for flying enjoyment. For extended thermal flights, we advise using a separate RC battery in addition to the drive battery. For BEC controllers, the red wire from the controller must be disconnected.
