However, while in the expert game Race for the Galaxy it is important to take advantage of the action choices of other players, in Jump Drive, everyone is in it for themselves. Each round, players simultaneously play one to two cards representing developments or worlds and must pay their construction costs by discarding hand cards. Played cards not only provide useful functions but also earn victory points and income in the form of new cards at the end of each round, which can be used for new construction projects. Gradually, players create space empires from cards until one player has collected at least 50 victory points. This usually takes only six to seven rounds! Jump Drive is the perfect introduction to the world of Race for the Galaxy. The game offers simple rules and processes while presenting tricky decisions. This allows players to become familiar with the iconography of Race for the Galaxy and ultimately prepares them well for the big brother.
