The Voyages of Zheng He - Board Game, for 1-2 Players, Ages 12 and Up
Between 1405 and 1433, the Chinese treasure fleet, commanded by Admiral Zheng He, embarked on seven legendary voyages. During a time of outward expansion, Emperor Yongle ordered the construction of a fleet of enormous, ocean-worthy junks, whose technological advancements European shipyards would not approach until the 18th century. The emperor's goal was to extend the influence of the Chinese Empire beyond the seas. Just two years later, the treasure fleet set sail to expand the empire's trade relations and support its political interests.
Some claim that the Chinese fleet circumnavigated the globe and discovered all continents except for Europe. What is certain is that it reached Calcutta in India and Hormuz in the Persian Gulf, and later also landed on the Arabian Peninsula and in East Africa. However, while the fleet sailed the seas, new dangers were already threatening the border regions of the empire inland.
Take control of the empire or step into the role of the fearsome barbarian hordes. The Voyages of Zheng He is a clever game for 2 players that requires all your tactical skill.
The Voyages of Zheng He is a short but intense board game in a small box for 1-2 players aged 12 and up, designed by David J. Mortimer and Alan Paull.
