One hundred

Hundred is a book for both children and adults, a book for flipping through and going back, for imagining and engaging in conversation together. It encompasses everything one learns in life: the first somersault, the first love, the first time drinking coffee, and the realization of how vast the world is. Later, one understands that they still don’t feel grown-up, even when middle age has long been reached. And in old age, one learns not only how precious time is but also how to unlearn things and lose the fear of death. This is the natural process of life. Heike Faller does not serve us life wisdom; she has spoken with young and old people and distilled their experiences into short sentences that read coherently like a beautiful, touching poem about life.
