The Resistance in VF

This box is the French version of the hit game The Resistance, released a few years ago by publisher Indie Board Games. This new edition of the game incorporates new roles that allow you to make informed decisions and intensify the interaction between players.

In The Resistance, a small group of staunch supporters of the resistance opposes a government as powerful as it is corrupt. Their mission is to launch a series of bold missions aimed at destabilizing the power in place and bringing the government to its knees. Unfortunately, their objective will be undermined by undercover spies who have the firm intention of sabotaging the carefully crafted plans. It only takes one spy to defeat a mission. Compose your teams with great care; otherwise, the word freedom will never make sense again. Will the resistance be able to unmask spies in time?

A hidden role-playing game

During a game of Resistance, two teams with diametrically opposed goals clash:

• The Resistance: these players aim to overthrow the corrupt government. To win, resistance fighters will have to pass three missions.
• Spies: these players are infiltrated among the resistance. They win the game if they manage to sabotage three operations.

All the mechanics of the game are based on the principle of asymmetrical knowledge of the players. Spies know each other, but resistance fighters do not. A mission is declared failed or successful by means of secret votes. Discussions, bluffing, alliances, and manipulations will be your best weapons to navigate the murky waters of Resistance.
