Matagot Parks

Parks is a worker-placement game that celebrates the magnificent national parks of the USA. Players take on the role of two hikers exploring the trails of a large national park throughout the four seasons of the year. Their hikers have the opportunity to visit breathtaking natural sites, observe wildlife, take photos, and light campfires.

As you explore the paths in the game, you collect memories and perform actions to earn resources that can be exchanged for visits to national parks at the end of each hike. In Parks, each trail represents a season, and the trails will change and expand with each season. The tiles representing the paths are shuffled between the seasons.

Resources can be scarce, especially when another player occupies the location you want to reach. Campfires allow you to share space and time with other hikers. During a turn, a player selects one of their hikers and moves them to a location of their choice. When the hiker arrives at the new location, the player performs an action. After completing the action, the active player passes their turn to the next player, and this continues until the end of the season.

At the end of the fourth season, the game concludes. All players reveal their cards for the year and score points based on their parks, their photos, and their personal bonuses for the year. The player with the most points at the end wins the game.
