Trek 12 is a mountaineering roll and write game with progressive difficulty levels. To score points, you need to create consecutive number chains from 0 to 12 and areas of the same number. The game consists of 19 throws from two six-sided dice, one having values from 1 to 6, and the other from 0 to 5. After each throw, the player must combine the two dice values to get the number to place. Be careful, as you can choose each of these options no more than four times during a game.

After placing your first number on the play sheet, you must place each next number in a space adjacent to the one already filled. You try to make chains and develop areas. Players also have access to several bonus items to be won during a game. At the end of the game, numbers that don't belong to a chain or an area give you fewer points. The same applies if you have to place a number greater than 12.

Three game modes in one box: Trek 12 incorporates three different game modes:

• The "Ascension Express" mode for quick and simple games. An ideal mode when you have little time and/or to initiate new players.
• An "Expedition" mode to follow the ascents, and as the various challenges succeed, discover equipment and meet useful companions.
• A "Free solo" mode to continue playing even when you are alone at home, on the plane, or on the train.
