Product details
The fame of the Lenormand fortune telling cards, which have been on the market in different variations for 200 years, is mainly explained by the fame of their (alleged) creator: Mademoiselle (or Madame) Marie Anne Adelaide Lenormand (1772 - 1843) was probably the most famous fortune teller of the 19th century. She was already famous during her lifetime and many high-ranking personalities of her time consulted her. The so-called "Little Lenormand Cards", which are especially known and popular in Germany, consist of 36 cards, each with only one picture motif (e.g. ring, house, rider) in a certain order. All of them are numbered from 1 to 36, many of them have additional card images as we know them from playing cards (hearts, diamonds, spades, clubs from 6 to 10, jacks, queens, kings, aces) and / or rhymes which refer to the interpretation of the respective card. For all "Little Lenormand Cards" the order and numbering is the same. Only the card No. 12 "Birds" is called in some variants "Owls", which are then also depicted instead of other species. The 36 Lenormand cards of the "White Owl" follow the pattern of the "Blue Owl" and were newly colored by the Swiss cartomancer Regula Elizabeth Fiechter with full-area watercolor illustrations. They are additionally equipped with playing card images and no. 12 is called "Owls".
