Single-use plastics and bottles have become one of the hottest topics in recent years, leading to an increased use of recycled polyester. Recycled polyester, also known as rPet, is produced by melting down existing plastic and spinning it into new polyester fiber and yarn. This process gives plastic a second life and consumes 59% less energy in production compared to pure polyester. For example, 16 water bottles (500 ml) produce enough fiber to create a 30 cm toy. This product and/or its packaging has been made from recycled raw materials. This method is more environmentally friendly as the raw materials do not need to be newly extracted with high effort. Yogurt cups, single-use bottles, plastic waste, and film packaging are incorporated into the manufacturing cycle through recycling.
