Always take out only as much modeling clay as needed from the package. Keep the rest in a closed bag to prevent it from drying out. Apply any hand cream to your hands to prevent the modeling clay from sticking. Kneading the clay makes it soft and pliable, making it ready for use immediately. The modeling clay can be shaped by hand, cut out, or pressed into molds.
Tip: If the modeling clay is too sticky, knead in a little cornstarch; if it is too dry and crumbly, use a bit more hand cream and knead it well again. To color the modeling clay, it is advisable to take a small amount and press a small indentation into it with your finger. Add a few drops of color concentrate into the indentation and knead the clay. At first, the clay will have a marbled effect, but the longer it is kneaded, the more evenly it will be colored. Note for making jewelry or other items: the modeling clay shrinks slightly as it dries. Depending on the thickness of the layer, the drying time is between 6 and 15 hours. After that, the modeling clay can be painted, decorated, or refined with acrylic paint. For functional items, it is recommended to coat them with a clear cold glaze.
