The J-5001 is the first F/A-18 C registered in Switzerland in the history of our Air Force. It is also considered a primus inter pares in a way. No other Hornet can boast such a high number of fired radar-guided air-to-air missiles AMRAAM.

The same applies to the 9X Sidewinders mounted on the wingtips. Only the J-5001 is equipped with measuring devices for Armasuisse, which evaluates the live operations. All these components are utilized in the so-called live firings. The logo from 2019 under the cockpit is a testament to one of these operations.

Similar to the warbirds of the past era, the J-5001 features symbols of the downed drones and missiles. This "nose art" is traditionally located on the left side under the cockpit window and is accurately represented on our model.
