Product details
Hydrofill Pro is a hydrogen-on-demand tabletop refueling station designed for easy and automatic refilling of Hydrostik Pro metal hydride cartridges (not included). Simply add pure water and connect it to the AC grid, DC solar, or wind energy solutions to create a completely self-sufficient, renewable hydrogen system. Hydrofill Pro is compatible with fuel cell power devices over 2 W and up to 30 W, making it particularly suitable for schools, laboratories, and technical learning facilities. "A Hydrofill in every home" is the dream, and with each iteration of Horizon's desktop metal hydride charging device, it comes closer to reality. Hydrogen production that only requires access to electricity and distilled water? Hydrogen cartridges that can power scientific kits exploring a range of renewable energy systems? Completely self-sufficient fuel cell experiments without the need to invest in hydrogen tanks or pay for expensive refills? Hydrofill is the ideal addition to any science classroom. At the heart of the technology is Horizon's metal hydride innovation. We found that compressed or liquid hydrogen, in the small quantities needed for scientific demonstrations (or to charge portable electronics), simply does not offer the versatility of solid hydrogen. Moreover, it is extremely safe – even approved by IATA for air travel. But that wasn't enough. Hydrogen is hard to obtain and expensive to replace when it runs low. What is the solution? Water. Or rather, a system that electrolyzes distilled water to generate hydrogen on demand. Thus, Hydrofill was born. Once we had the concept, the applications for education became clear.
