Product details
The WR360 C14 was developed in the late 1930s as a shunting locomotive for the Wehrmacht, primarily intended for use in explosion-prone locations. The locomotive has 360 horsepower, three coupled axles, and an axle load of 14 tons. After the war, the remaining locomotives, now referred to as V36, were transferred to the Deutsche Bundesbahn and Deutsche Reichsbahn. Locomotives also remained in the Czech Republic, Belgium, and Austria. After the war, 14 additional locomotives were built. The DB also used the V36 in push-pull train operations with passenger cars; for this purpose, seven locomotives were equipped with electro-pneumatic control between 1955 and 1959, allowing operation by just one person. For these operations, some V36 underwent significant modifications: because driving with the (rather high) front cab always posed some challenges and hindered single-person operation, a cab was added to the driver's cabin.
