As players move across the meandering paths of the map, there are coins to collect, items to equip, friends to call in, and fun mini-games to complete such as "Scissors, Rock, Paper," "Thumb Wrestling," and "Spin Duel." Once they approach Bowser's fortress, the turning power can be increased by buying stars. Each star adds 1 point of spinning power and to defeat Bowser, a 12 or higher must be spun because only then can you win the game.
