The island of Catan becomes more complex. In the cities, you can now build special buildings that grant additional abilities. Additionally, instead of robbers, there will be hordes of marauders that can be contained by knights. The materials and rules included in this expansion allow two additional players to join in the colonization of the island of Catan.
