The world is inhabited by more than a million different species of animals. The theory of evolution attempts to explain the causes of this incredible biodiversity. Charles Darwin based his theory of evolution on the principle of natural selection. He explained that the animals best adapted to survive in a particular environment are also the most likely to pass on their genes. In Evolution, players develop their animals by giving them genetic traits that enable them to survive in a constantly changing ecosystem. Food is scarce, and carnivores band together. Your decisions determine the fate of the species in the world: some will survive, some will thrive, and others will disappear from the Earth. Survive or perish! In Evolution, you try to collect as many points as possible by feeding your species, increasing their populations, and evolving them to ensure their survival. At the end of the game, players earn points for the food their animals consumed during the game, the population of their surviving animals, and the trait cards of their surviving animals. A game of Evolution consists of a number of rounds, which depends on the number of remaining trait cards.
