Product details
In 1933, a two-part diesel multiple unit was introduced for express services between Berlin and Hamburg. With a top speed of 160 km/h, previously unimaginable travel times were achieved, leading to the name 'Flying Hamburger.' For the further expansion of express services, the designs for Hamburg, Leipzig, Cologne, and Berlin followed. However, the success of express services did not allow the steam locomotive industry to rest. The series 05 and the Henschel-Wegmann train were developed. Starting with the rail Zeppelin, we have compiled the history of 'Flying Trains' in countless old film scenes. In scenes from more recent history, we show you the Hamburg design in operation and the museum trains that are still preserved today.
