Product details

With 4,200 kW through the mountain. PREMIUM model of a Gripper TBM (Tunnel Boring Machine) including a trailing unit, invert segments, and gear motor based on a design by Herrenknecht AG from Schwanau. The Gripper TBM is anchored to the tunnel wall by hydraulically extendable cylinders that clamp it in place. Hydraulic thrust cylinders guide the alignment of the tunnel with pivoting movements and provide the drill head with downforce. The rotating cutter head breaks rock into loose chips, which are transported away via scrapers, channels, and a conveyor belt. Rock stabilization during tunnel construction is achieved through various machine facilities, such as the installation of reinforcement mats and rock anchors, the assembly of stabilizing steel arches, or the extraction of core samples for preliminary exploration. The trailing unit of the Gripper TBM is equipped with systems for transporting the rock, additional drilling equipment for installing rock anchors, facilities for the concrete lining of the tunnel tube, and the installation of utility systems, as well as various pipelines, transformers, pumps, equipment containers, and control units. Last but not least, the trailing unit provides the building materials needed by the Gripper TBM. The kit includes 42 invert segments for lining the tunnel floor and a gear motor, item 180722, for rotating the cutting shield. The connection is made to a maximum of 5 V DC. Supplementary set: Trailing unit for Gripper TBM, item 130899, with additional trailing unit variants available separately.
