Tips for using effect wax:

Take the required amount of effect wax from the container with a wax spatula and knead it between your fingers until it is soft and pliable. For example, if you want to model a longer scar, roll the wax into an elongated shape while kneading. For a bullet wound, shape the wax into a ball first. With a tiny amount of grease cream or petroleum jelly on your fingers, gently smooth out the transitions. The cream is important, as otherwise, your fingers may stick to the effect wax and damage your work in progress.

Effect wax is also great for pulling a needle (possibly with thread) through a fake scar. This is possible because effect wax has a firmer consistency compared to super soft putty. This allows for easier and more durable surface design than with the softer super soft putty.

Also, coat your tools, such as a wax spatula for the cut wound or the handle of a brush for the bullet wound, with grease cream to prevent sticking while modeling. You can set the wax model after coloring (Pofi-Aqua makeup is excellent for touch-ups) with setting powder; however, note that effect wax does not gain protection from mechanical influences as it always remains soft. To fix effect wax better and more permanently, you can coat the area with mastix beforehand and let it dry briefly before placing the effect wax. Effect wax can be easily smoothed, dissolved, and washed off with makeup remover.
