Tips for the application of effect wax:

Remove the amount of effect wax you need from the can using a wax spatula: then knead this amount of effect wax between your fingers until it is soft and pliable.
For example, if you want to sculpt a longer scar, roll the wax into an elongated shape while kneading, and if you want to sculpt a bullet wound, shape the wax into a ball beforehand.
Now carefully smooth out the transitions with a tiny amount of grease cream or petroleum jelly on your fingers (the cream is important because otherwise your fingers will stick to the effect wax and you could easily destroy the work you have started).

Effect wax is also well suited, for example, to pull a needle (possibly with thread) through an artificial scar. This is possible because Effect Wax has a more solid consistency than Super Soft Putty. Consequently, Effect Wax succeeds in creating an easier and more lasting surface design than with the softer Super Soft-Putty.

Also coat your tools - e.g. a wax spatula for the cut or the handle of a brush for the gunshot wound - with a grease cream so that your tools do not stick during modeling. You can fix the wax modeling after coloring (Pofi-Aqua make-up is excellent for overmaking) with fixing powder, but remember that this does not protect the effect wax from mechanical influences, since effect wax always remains soft.
To fix the effect wax better and more permanently, you can coat the corresponding area with mastic beforehand: you should let this dry briefly before placing the effect wax. Effect wax can be smoothed, dissolved and washed off very well with Make-up Remover.
