Andergast is an ancient kingdom that is bound to its neighbor Nostria by a never-ending feud. The people take pride in their homeland, being tough, resourceful, and idealistic. Sometimes, their neighbors look down on them disdainfully, viewing them as foolish bumpkins who stubbornly cling to traditions and are destined for nothing greater. However, one should never underestimate anyone who strives to rise from the gutters of the street.

Perhaps you have also underestimated what you have gotten yourself into, but you will quickly realize the great danger you have placed yourself in. While you manage to escape from a cell where you have been imprisoned, you sense from the very beginning that a monumental journey lies ahead of you. This solo adventure book allows you to embark on an adventure without a game master or fellow players!

It includes seven solo adventures, of which "In the King's Back," "The Black Oak," "In the Grip of the Black Oak," and "Return to the Black Oak" have been released as individual adventures for the 4th edition of The Dark Eye. The adventures have been revised, supplemented with new content, and combined into the most comprehensive game book published to date. Over 2100 sections await to be experienced with a total of four hero characters. In four of the seven adventures, you will play as your own character or one of the four suggested heroes from the book's appendix, encountering new challenges section by section as you read. All your skills will be put to the test to come out unscathed.
