The new card-driven board game by Alexander Pfister, Maracaibo, takes players to the Caribbean of the 17th century, into a vibrant world full of adventures and tactical possibilities.

Different nations compete for dominance, trying to expand and solidify their political and economic power. As seafarers, players strive to enhance their reputation, build influential connections, and thus achieve fame and wealth. However, only those who can execute their plans most profitably will ultimately claim victory. Various strategies can assist in this endeavor: upgrading one's boat into a powerful ship, engaging in battles, capturing other boats, launching expeditions, completing quests, and more. And looming over it all is the specter of a swift end: the conclusion of a round can occur unexpectedly and much sooner than anticipated!

In Maracaibo, players will also find a unique story mode, meaning that Maracaibo can be played as a campaign and experienced as an exciting narrative. Surprises can continually influence the course of the game.
