Product details
In 1347, trade galleys from the Crimean Peninsula arrived in Sicily and docked at the old port of Messina. The galleys carried rats. The rats had fleas. And the fleas carried a plague that would later become known as the Black Death. Over the next four years, half of the population in the cities of Europe died.
Players take on the roles of noble families with landholdings in the area around Messina. They attempt to save the people from the plague by relocating them to their lands. As the plague worsens in Messina, players build small independent communities and try to combat the disease with fire.
In the final rounds of the game, the plague begins to recede, and players bring the rescued citizens back to repopulate the resilient city of Messina.
