Queen Anne's Revenge was a ship from the early 18th century that primarily served as the flagship for Edward Teach, better known by his nickname Blackbeard. Although the date and place of the ship's construction are uncertain, it was originally believed to have been built in 1710 in Bristol, England, for trade and was named Concord, later captured by French privateers and renamed La Concorde. After several years in French service, it was captured by Blackbeard in 1717. Blackbeard used the ship for less than a year but seized numerous prizes while using it as his flagship.
