The polyester cord is incredibly hardwearing and durable at an affordable price. It has many of the qualities of silk cord, making it a favourite for jewellery making and macramé projects. You can braid it and tie the beads or thread them onto the cord. If you use the cord for bead jewellery, the process is even simpler. Simply burn off the end of the string and roll it between two fingers to form a sharp point. Alternatively, you can dip the end in glue, roll it into a point and leave the glue to dry. This seals and stiffens the end so that it does not fray when you thread the beads.
