With the McLaren 720S GT3, former Formula 1 driver Christian Klien participated in the DTM as part of his part-time program. At the Circuit Zolder in Belgium, the Nürburgring, and the Dutch Circuit Assen, the Austrian driver took the wheel of the car with the number 15 for the JP Motorsport team and achieved a strong fifth place in the first scoring race in Holland.
