Product details
All hands on deck – the double cabin makes it possible! In April 2013, the new, extremely off-road capable Unimog series 437.4 was first presented to the public. With fitting promotional slogans like "off-road capable," "robust," and "efficient," this vehicle could not be better described. It is designed to tackle almost any obstacle. The new tire pressure regulation system "tirecontrol plus" ensures the correct setting for the respective terrain. The switch logic allows the user to choose between "road," "sand," and "rough terrain." By lowering the tire pressure when driving off-road, for example, traction is improved while also protecting the ground – thoughtful technology for greater comfort. In June 2014, series production began at the Daimler AG plant in Wörth. The new series includes the types U 4023 and U 5023, each with 170 kW and 231 hp engine power, respectively, in accordance with the current Euro 6 emissions standard. The wheelbase measures 3,850 mm, and the permissible total weight varies between 8.5 and 14.5 tons depending on the configuration. While the exterior resembles the proven predecessors, the entire vehicle has been technically updated, including the drivetrain and the driver's cabin, setting new standards in efficiency, environmental protection, and user-friendliness. The well-established Unimog virtues such as durability, robustness, efficiency, and exceptional off-road capability remain unchanged. This allows access to the most challenging deployment sites that remain inaccessible to other wheeled vehicles, even under the most adverse topographical and climatic conditions. The main areas of application for the new Unimog generation are worldwide in the fields of fire and rescue services, disaster relief, exploration, and raw material extraction. These outstanding characteristics of the new off-road professional are also of great interest as a base for motorhomes and expedition vehicles.
