Penguins have wings, but they do not use them for flying; instead, they use them for swimming. They feed on fish and must go into the water to access their food, which mainly consists of small schooling fish and squid. Both parents take care of the young. The female lays the egg while the male incubates it. The egg is hidden in a fold of skin on the belly to protect it from freezing. During the 60 days of incubation, the male does not eat anything. The females, on the other hand, migrate to the sea after laying the egg to ensure they have enough food. They only return from the sea once the chicks have hatched to take over the care of the brood. Unlike polar bears, penguins primarily live in the southern hemisphere, with the largest population found around Antarctica.
