Bullyland Hippo

The hippos are also called hippos. The hippopotamus prefers to lie in the shallow water during the day and bask in the sun. It dives in so far that its ears, eyes and nostrils just stick out. Hippos have a large, clumsy body and short legs. They are mostly in the water. Because they are so heavy, they sink and can walk on the bottom. They can then close their nostrils with a special muscle. They hold their breath for up to five minutes. The hippos are pure herbivores. In order to get enough food, they graze every night for 5 - 6 hours. A young hippo is born in the water and can immediately walk and swim. The young are also suckled in the water. A baby weighs 50 kg.
