The most extraordinary feature of a chameleon, aside from its lightning-fast tongue and individually movable eyes, is its spectacular color change. However, this is primarily not for camouflage, but mainly for communication with one another. When they are looking for a mate, they often adorn themselves with colorful, striking patterns. Additionally, light and temperature conditions also affect a chameleon's appearance. Their favorite foods include insects and grasshoppers. They obtain moisture either from plants or by licking dew off the leaves in the morning.
