Product details

There are two types of elephants: the Indian elephant and the African elephant. The Indian elephant is often referred to as the Asian elephant. Compared to the African elephant, it has much smaller ears. Typically, both males and females have tusks. However, in female Indian elephants, the tusks are so small that they are usually not visible externally.

The tusks are used for defense against enemies and in fights with each other. They are also often used to strip bark from trees or break apart soft wood. With the help of their trunks and tusks, elephants dig deep holes in search of water during the dry season.

Elephants are exclusively herbivorous, feeding on plants such as hay, green fodder, leaves, tree bark, roots, and fruits. They consume about 170 kg of fresh vegetation per day. Drinking is also very important for elephants; they drink about 100 liters of water each day.
