ModelFan - Model of the Year 2008! This kit includes a photo-etched set. Tankette in camouflage design, depicted with an open or closed hatch. It can be built in four marking variants: 7th Tank Battalion, 1149th Company, Chinese 200th Armored Division, Xiangtan, Hunan, China, 1938; Hungarian 1st Cavalry Division, Eastern Front, Croatia, 1943; 7th Prince Eugen Division of the Waffen-SS, Bosnia, 1944; Italian "Ariete" Division, 32nd Ret. North Africa, 1941. The L3/35 tankette was developed from imported Carden-Lloyd Mk. VI tractors. These vehicles, originating from England, were referred to as "CV-29" in the Italian army, where "CV" stands for "Carro veloce" (fast tank). Originally built in 1933 as CV-33, they were also upgraded in 1938 to CV-35 and differ only slightly. Approximately 2500 L3 tankettes were produced in various versions. Twenty L3/33 were sold to China. Other buyers included Afghanistan, Albania, Austria, Bolivia, Brazil, Bulgaria, Greece, Hungary, Iraq, and Spain. The Chinese Nationalist Government introduced a total of 94 CV35 for its 200th Armored Division to fight against the Japanese army during the invasion in World War II. A specimen of this tankette is displayed in the Military Museum in Beijing.
