Well, my friend. If you intend to catch the flaming Firebird for its magical feathers, I will not stop you. But beware, the forest is full of dark secrets, and this bird can bring both fortune and misfortune. So be on your guard, or you will be lost in the endless woods. Farewell, and may you return to tell your tale.

Blaze is based on the classic, world-renowned card game from Russia called Durak. In Blaze, players try to get rid of their cards, but they must do so in a highly clever and unusual way. The player who plays cards teams up with the player two seats away, leading to constantly shifting alliances. In the end, the player who has collected the most feathers wins. Challenge the next player by playing cards of the same number. By playing higher cards, they can fend off your cards. Expand the challenge with your supporter by playing additional cards of any number currently in play. If successful, the challenged player must take all played cards into their hand; otherwise, all played cards are removed from the game. Once the draw pile is empty, it’s all or nothing: Who can get rid of their hand cards first?

Blaze stands alongside our card game Spicy, which was recommended by the Game of the Year jury, as well as its sequels Coyote and Anansi. Blaze remains true to its roots, with Russian artist Nadezhda Mikryukova illustrating both the legendary Firebirds and the decorative frames in a classic illustration style.
