Build your trading empire along the Golden River while trying to gain influence in the courts of Rokugan, a kingdom where divine favor can change your fate. Players take on the role of river traders allied with legendary samurai clans, competing to exploit the river for wealth, glory, and wisdom. Will you invest in expanding ports, markets, shrines, and more along the bustling shores? Or will you rely on navigating the Golden River, growing your fortune and influence through consignment contracts, visits to the nobility, and a bit of divine favor in tough times?

In each round, your dice roll will present you with three unique options, but you can only choose one: expand your trading empire by building along the shores, load your boats, or seal a valuable deal with an important client. If the outcome of the dice doesn't align with your plan, you can use divine favor to manipulate fate!

With the included free mini-expansion, Patrons of the Clans, you can also recruit a legendary patron with powerful new abilities that offer you alternative strategies and victory methods. The game features a beautifully designed game board with embossed metallic gold elements, illustrated by master fantasy cartographer Francesca Baerald.
