Das altägyptische Senet-Spiel

In this book about Egyptian symbols, Medhananda explores the deeper meaning of the 5000-year-old board game of the pharaohs. Drawing on the Senet material collected by the Egyptologist E. Pusch, particularly the 'Great Senet Texts', he concludes that the game squares correspond to psychological forces and archetypes. It was part of a pharaoh's inner program to know these as well as his outer realm. The meditative Senet game helps evoke the communication between the outer and inner self: the surface ego poses questions, while deeper aspects of being respond with symbolic images. Medhananda aims to inspire us with his explanations to recognize our various possibilities and ways of being through these symbolic images of the board game and to practice bringing the many forces within us into a whole – in a playful manner and out of joy for the greatest of all games, 'self-creation'.
