Product details
The Grumman F8F Bearcat is a piston-engine, single-seat US aircraft built entirely of metal from the 1940s. Due to its incredible top speed, it is often used as a racing plane. The well-known Rare Bear – a modification of the F8F-2 – holds the record for piston-engine aircraft on a 3-km course at a limited altitude, with a speed of 850.24 km/h. The Rare Bear Amewi Edition is a scale replica of the famous Reno Racer, featuring the original paint scheme of the racing aircraft and combining perfect flight characteristics (6G for beginners, 3D for advanced pilots) with state-of-the-art technology.
The model is controlled across all axes (aileron, elevator, rudder, motor) and is self-stabilizing in 6G mode (gyro). This stabilization prevents the aircraft from stalling and allows only a limited angle, making loops, rolls, or inverted flight impossible in this setting. However, when switched to 3D mode using the high-quality 2.4GHz transmitter, it is also suitable for dynamic aerobatics. All standard maneuvers can then be performed effortlessly. If something goes wrong in the air, the P-40 can be switched back to 6G mode with just the push of a button, immediately returning to a stable flight position (rescue function).
In addition to these features, the model is equipped with a receiver board that allows operation with, for example, Futaba or other 5V S-Bus receivers, as well as DSM receivers with a 3V output. Thus, the model is not dependent on the included remote control and can alternatively be used with an existing transmitter.
