Adafruit NeoPixel Diffused 5mm Through-Hole LED 5 Pack
Product details
LOLwut? NeoPixel in a 5mm through-hole variant? Oh yes, we're doing it! If you like NeoPixel strips, you'll love this 5mm diffuse through-hole LED. NeoPixel. The whole one-pin control - hundreds of LEDs - is a great thing in a breadboard-friendly format. Each LED looks like a shorter version of the classic 5mm RGB through-hole LED with 4 legs, but instead of just red/green/blue, there's a small chip inside that controls the LED with high-speed PWM for 24-bit color.
They look very similar to the 8mm variant but are smaller. Power them with 5V and chain them by connecting the Data-Out pin from one to the Data-In of the previous one in the chain. If you're working with an Arduino, you can use these LEDs with our wonderfully written NeoPixel library. They also work great with our jewelry pieces. Note that this is the "RGB" format instead of the "GRB" format found in the 5050 LEDs you may be used to. Check out the NeoPixel example to see the automatic color change.
These great-looking LEDs are also fast and responsive with a milky diffusing lens for a soft appearance.
