Regional multiple unit "Capricorn" of the Rhaetian Railway (RhB). Since June 2016, the Rhaetian Railway has received a total of 56 four-part "Capricorn" multiple units from Stadler Rail. These are used on the routes from Landquart to Davos, through the Vereina Tunnel into the Engadin, and from Chur to Disentis. The trains are designed for a maximum speed of 120 km/h and are excellently suited for the so-called wing train operation due to their automatic couplings. In this operation, multi-part trains are separated while on the move, and the individual parts continue to different terminal stations. In the opposite direction, these parts are then reunited to return to the starting station. This function is particularly beneficial for the single-track section of the RhB between Landquart and Klosters, as it allows for a half-hourly service without extensive upgrades.
