Question about Airthings Corentium Home

Unfortunately, there is no information about the measuring principle. Self-calibration is one thing. The description is full of marketing scaremongering. Rn is a naturally occurring radioactive noble gas (86). It escapes from the rock. The Rn 222 concentration can become relevant primarily in cellar rooms. The remedy is simply to ventilate and, if necessary, to seal the floor better, but this is only necessary at high concentrations. See BAG page and Rn map CH. The manufacturer is trying to panic here. And no, Rn 222 (relevant isotope) is an alpha emitter. Other toxins probably cause significantly more lung cancer than Rn 222.

I installed the device (radon gas detector Airthings Corentium Home) about a year ago in the laundry room/workshop in the basement (EFH). The room is regularly ventilated, the floor is concreted and painted over, so it is well sealed. Here is what I have noticed: The radon levels tend to increase the older the batteries are. After changing the batteries, the values drop again. The values fluctuate between 50 and sometimes up to 180, under constant conditions. Higher values were indicated when hung on the wall compared to locations on a table or rack. Due to the room procurement, the large fluctuations are not comprehensible to me and are somewhat irritating.
