Is the cable also compatible for the Boulder 100? Are the plugs rain-protected/insulated?

No, unless you connect an adapter (8mm to Power Pole) in between. As far as I know, the cable is only compatible with the Boulder 200 Briefcase. As this has Power Pole connectors.
