Question about Philips Hue SmartPlug CH
I want to use the device to automatically switch off my 3D printer in the basement after printing (often overnight). There is no Wi-Fi in the basement. Can I control the Smart Plug directly via iPhone, without a router somewhere in between? Thank you!
The Philips Hue devices don't use WiFi as such, but Zigbee. The range of each device is 10-15 m. If the wifi doesn't work, it's possible that the Zigbee network of the Philips Hue devices will work all the way down to the cellar. It all depends on the position of the Hue bridge and the devices between it and the SmartPlug.
