Hi everyone, I got the Pioneer SPH-20DAB and installed it. It works great so far, but the person I'm talking to complains about a nasty high-pitched whistling sound during the BT conversation. I then unplugged the supplied microphone during the call and lo and behold, the whistling seems to be gone. Is this just cheap China junk or have I misplaced it? I positioned the microphone at the top of the A-pillar. I had to pass the filigree cable behind the speedometer and light switch to install it. It could be that there are interfering power sources. The thin cable doesn't seem to be shielded at all. Any ideas? Buy a better mic with the small jack connector and try again? Greetings Steff
It works perfectly for me. No disturbing noises and the voice quality is good. I am a car mechanic and never recommend installing it on the A-pillar, as it can always be disturbed by the wind. It doesn't matter whether the window is open or closed.
In my case, the microphone is installed near the speedometer.
In the last 10 years, I have always had Pioneer devices installed and I have never had any complaints about the microphone.
