It would seem so, as the supplier information sheet specifies: "when you buy the 40W laser module, you also get a 1.6W laser module for finer, more detailed engraving". :)

i engrave myself and 1.6 watt is a mosquito shit when engraving, please don't be fooled.
i use 1.6 watts to scan my wood to see how big it will be, i.e. how much space i need in the wood.............
