Can you use a 100W adapter to charge a device that only accepts a maximum of 45W, for example? Or will this cause any damage to the battery? Thank you :)

Helpful answer

That works. The connected device determines the wattage. But laptops can also be charged with this plug, hence the "high" wattage.

There are no devices that "only accept a maximum of 45W"
The device draws a maximum of 45W. If the charger is capable of more, e.g. 100W, the device will only draw 45W.
The situation is different if a device requires at least 60W, for example. Then the charger must supply this, otherwise it will simply not charge.
