Question about Doro 3500 Alarm Trigger

GAP (Generic Access Profile) is a technology in cordless phones (not mobile). The Doro Emergency Button 3500 works in conjunction with Doro smartphones or compatible smartphones (mobile).

Ehm, without having to ask Auntie Google, what does the DBA (three-letter abbreviation) GAP mean? What kind of technology is it supposed to be compatible with and how? Maybe a link to the GAP stuff, then I can read up on it :-)
