Unique to these models is the Barlow zoom system in the eyepiece: By using a retractable additional lens, the magnification can be continuously adjusted up to 2x during visual observation, allowing for magnifications ranging from 40x to 1600x when combined with 3 objectives and 2 interchangeable wide-field eyepieces.
