The nut is the internally threaded counterpart of a screw or threaded bolt. Together, nut and bolt form a screw connection. Washers are used to distribute the force of the bolt head of a bolt or nut over a larger area. Washers are available in metal, felt and plastic, for example. A split pin is a locking element. It is used to secure the position of connected components in a direction that is not the main direction of loading during operation.
