Za-Pas Expandable Micarta Cerakote knife

Those who prefer a slightly larger knife will love the Expandable from ZA-PAS. It is the big brother of the Ultra Outdoor and is excellently suited as a bushcraft, survival, and forest knife.

The massive full-tang blade is made from NMV O2 carbon steel with a thickness of 4.4 mm. The blades are hardened to a level of 58 - 59 HRC, providing a compromise between high impact resistance and good sharpness. The blade is coated with Cerakote, a ceramic-based coating system. Specifically developed for use on weapons, it offers incredible properties. The ultra-thin layer gives the knife an elegant appearance while providing outstanding corrosion protection by preventing oxygen from reaching the steel. While conventional surface treatments like classic bluing or phosphating only offer rust protection in conjunction with oil, Cerakote protects even with neglected maintenance. However, the coating may scratch and wear over time with heavy use.

The handle is made of either G10 or Micarta, providing a good grip in hand. The handle scales are secured with black screws. The sheath is made of ABS and features a belt loop, and it can be connected using the PALS system. The holes on the sheath are positioned to allow for the attachment of a Tek-Lok holder.
