Electrode welders are ideal for professional and DIY welding work. They are often used in workshops or outdoors as they are flexible and can be used in almost any conditions. MMA welding is a manual welding process in which a coated rod electrode serves as an arc carrier and filler material at the same time. It is also known as gas-shielded arc welding, manual arc welding or manual electric arc welding. On contact, an arc is created between the welding electrode and the workpiece. This melts the sheath electrode and the welding point. When the coating melts, slag and shielding gases are produced, which protect the weld pool and the weld seam from oxidation. Three functions make operation easier by igniting the arc (hot-start), stabilising it (arc-force) and preventing the electrode from sticking to the workpiece (anti-stick). The compact electric welder with carrying strap is particularly light and easy to handle. This increases flexibility and mobility during welding applications. It is also easy to reach joining points that are difficult to access. Only one welding power source is required for operation. The MMA welding machine can be operated with power from a normal socket. The amperage required depends on the material of the workpiece and the sheet thickness, among other things. The welder works with 1.6-3.2 mm electrodes and is therefore suitable for a sheet thickness of 1.5-3 mm. The most important accessories including earth cable with clamp and welding cable with electrode clamp are supplied. A welding shield serves as eye protection against UV radiation. A wire brush with slag hammer is included for post-processing. The electrode welder impresses with its ease of use, high output and long duty cycle (35 %) thanks to IGBT technology. This makes it equally suitable for beginners and professionals.
