A nut splitter is a tool used to loosen rusted, over-tightened, or damaged nuts.

To split the nut, the ring-shaped end of the extraction tool is placed around the stuck nut. The nut splitters in this set are designed for nuts measuring 12–16 mm or 16–22 mm. The splitting chisel is mechanically turned into the nut using a ratchet or a wrench. For this purpose, the cutting chisel is equipped with an external hex drive (SW 14 mm or 19 mm). The pressure causes the nut to break, allowing for easy removal. The significant advantage of nut splitters over other methods is that the screw thread remains undamaged.
